Open Studios

Open studio is a concept where dance makers invite you to get a sneak peak in the middle of their process. It's a way of helping the artist to move forward but also a generous way to share with the audience. All dance maker have 30 min at their disposal.

In this open showing Hozan Omar will showcase a part of his solo dance piece "Layers", where different sounds and music merge into multilayered movement, showcasing the techniques of popping dance. The story follows a character who struggles between two worlds and embarks on a journey inward, exploring different layers of the self. Yared Tilahun Cederlund will have a work in progress showing of PULS pt 3, the third work in the Triology of puls. The work is produced by Scenkonst Sörmland and premiers later on this year.

Hozan Omar (FI)

Hozan Omar is a Helsinki-born dancer and a dance teacher. In year 2015 he graduated from the Street dance programme of the Swedish Åsa Folklögskolan. He has been travelling a lot for dancing and participating in various competitions. In years 2013 & 2016 Omar won the Finnish Championship of popping. Omar has performed in several TV productions and music videos. As a dancer, Omar is self-confident and he thinks that performing brings out the most of his potential.

Yared Tilahun Cederlind(SE)

Yared is a dancer, choreographer, and music producer who in the latest years has been seen on stage in a multitude of different performances. He has been touring in shows such as Festen by Viktor Fröjd, Rasied On Rhythm by Niki Tsappos and Waterkind by Land Before Time. His music composition is used in performances like YES by Bam Bam Frost and Tr3i by Bianca Traum. As a choreographer, Yared is now working on the third part of the project PULS.
