Danscentrum Syd is a members organisation for freelancing dancers and choreographers in the south of Sweden. Our goal is to support and strengthen the artists, to further the conditions and distribution of dance as performing arts and to be a meeting place and a hub for the dance field.
About the EU project VAP
With 23 partners in 22 countries across Europe, the Visiting Artist Programme (VAP) is a collaborative project aimed at stimulating artistic development, creative exchange and valuable networking.
VAP is one of Europe’s largest initiatives supporting contemporary dance artists to enlarge their international network. It enables small groups of selected artists to visit major dance festivals across the continent, engaging in tailored activities such as performances, meetings, and curated exchanges.
VAP nurtures cross-border artistic development and builds essential networks between artists, programmers, and presenters. The programme emphasizes inclusion—integrating Ukrainian and disabled artists through dedicated support and accessible festival training—and promotes sustainable travel by offering extra assistance for low-emission journeys. VAP cultivates meaningful connections and equips artists with the confidence, contacts, and tools needed to thrive on the international stage.
The project is supported by Creative Europe and Dancentrum Syd is the coordinator.
