The residency is a collaboration between Danscentrum Syd and the cultural association Iver with funding from the Culture Council.

Dance residencies

Two weeks of dance residency where you get the opportunity to continue your artistic practice and research.   This will be shown during Malmö Dance Week v. 44.

Period 1: 24 April - 5 May

Period 2: 31 July - 11 August

+ Malmö Dance Week 30 Oct - 5 Nov with screening one of the days between 30 October - 1 November

(You can apply for both periods if you are available but are only assigned one)

Location: Bastionen, Malmö.

‍

What's included

• Production support of SEK 50,000, paid against invoice
• Two weeks residency at Bastionen, Malmö. 7 days in the rehearsal studio and 5 days in a blackbox with basic technique and equipment.
• Basic technique and equipment: simple lights, sound, dance mat if needed and technical support on occasion.
• Work in progress showing at Bastionen the last week of the residence.
• One performance during Malmö Dance Week, one of the days between 30 October - 2 November.
• If desired, there is an opportunity to meet with a dramaturg for discussion and help.
• Accommodation in shared hotel room throughout Malmö Dance Week 2023 (30th oct -5th nov).

Application requirements

• Dancers, dance artists and choreographers who are active in the street dance genre.
• One can apply for all periods but is only assigned one.
• You must be available on the dates you are applying for.
• The persons mentioned in the application must also complete the residence.
• Participants not living in Malmö pay and arrange their accommodation and travels to and from the residence themselves.
• Participants are encouraged to also apply for other financial support.

Studio residencies 

One week studio residence. This week is the perfect opportunity to get started with a new creative process.

Period 1: 20-24 mars, (5 days + Malmö scenfest 25e)

Period 2: 10-16 april (7 days)

Location: Danscentrum Syd, Malmö.

What´s included 

• Support of 10.000 SEK, paid against invoice
• One weeks  residence at i Danscentrum syd dance studio.

• Work in progress showing at the end of the week.

• Dance artists and choreographers who are active in the street dance genre.
• One can apply for all periods but is only assigned one.
• You must be available on the dates you are applying for.
• The persons mentioned in the application must also complete the residence.
• Participants not living in Malmö pay and arrange their accommodation and travel to and from the residence themselves.

• Participants are encouraged to also apply for other support.

Open call - Performance 

Now we are looking for performances and showcases that will be shown during one occasion during Malmö Dance Week 2023.

Date: October 30 - November 2

What's included

• Paid performance (Paid against invoice.)
• Travel (travel applies within Sweden)
• Accommodation (cover during working days)
• Basic technique and equipment includes simple lighting, sound and technical support on occasion.

Application requirements

• Dance artists and choreographers or the choreographic idea should be within the street dance genre. 
• You must be available on the dates announced.
• Recorded video material (does not need to be on stage)
• Technical rider or technical requirements.
