Bio

Johanna Fröjd, is a dancer, choreographer and educator based in Stockholm. Above all, she is inspired by house culture with its social and cultural context and aspect. There she explores freestyle dance in different areas both on stage, clubs, jams and battles. Within these different areas, her work has revolved around the importance of a space where the dancers can celebrate together. As when dance is practiced in accordance with the essence of the body and mind, we gain access to change, transformation and the insight of our connection to each other and everything around. Johanna has studied various dance genres in Cuba, USA, Canada, South Africa, Argentina and in Sweden at Åsa Folkhögskola and has a bachelor's degree in democracy and human rights from Enskilda University in Stockholm

Class

With a foundation in the house tradition, the classes we will start from the power of pulse and rhythm. We will work technically with different layers of rhythm and texture and explore our own freestyle and creativity in harmony with house music and each other.
